Had dinner Thursday march 19. It's more like 3.5 stars but I went on side of caution in rating since some interesting issues. Alex was our waiter, they have live music and a bartender who walked around doing restaurant work the whole time singing, I wanted to sit in the front window seats but with the music there we couldn't hear a thing so we got seated in the back. Alex was our waiter and was good. We ordered a chirozo sausage appetizer. I was with a person from Spain and he decided not like a Spanish one at all. I passed based on his review. We both ordered the Thursday steak special of ribeye rare. Both were cooked to temperature but mine wasn't as good a cut as my friends, I didnt want potatoes and asked for double vegetable, I was given ratatouille ibut I wanted double broccolini. They bought me more and it was good and hot. My original vegetable was cold. It was good just not great. The salad and bread and olives were included, we enjoyed the salads. We had drinks. I had a kir royal and he had a sunburn martini which is made with jalapeño vodka. He enjoyed it but wasn't wowed by it either, dinner overall was good, I love this place and used the Lewes one often when it was still open. Some more attention needs to be paid to the food in the kitchen.

The cheesemonger next door sent my friend and me here for cocktails. We were really looking for Happy Hour specials which they did not have, but the staff was friendly and inviting so we decided to try it. We try to stay on beach budget because we go out so much, but sometimes we just have to splurge. I ordered the Cosmo and Nicole B had the St. Germain. I did not like her drink because ginger tastes like soap to me, but the Cosmo was fantastic. The bartender was wonderful, and provided us with an assortment of olives and bread with olive oil for dipping. We ordered the scallop small plate which was pricey, but the scallops were almost the size of a burger. These were the biggest scallops I have ever seen, and cooked perfectly. We spent more than we wanted to here, but it was worth every penny.

Went in for breakfast, as it was right down the block from my hotel. Sat at a table, after being told by a voice that came from nowhere to "seat ourselves." Had a waiter come up after a couple minutes to take our drink order. My husband and I both order a coffee and orange juice. A waitress came to the table a few minutes later with coffee and water. We never got the orange juice. First, my coffee was cold. Cold enough that any wait staff would notice. My husband had to take my coffee to one of the staff to point it out because there was no one paying attention to us at all. Finally, after I had a hot cup of coffee brought to me, our orders were taken. My husband got an omelet, and I ordered a "European waffle." I figured it was like a Belgian waffle. I was wrong. I'm guessing it was European because it was flown, frozen, from Europe and microwaved. It was cold, it was soggy, it was bland, and the size of an eggo. I could have gotten a better waffle at a holiday inn express. In short, 2 different waitstaff, who didn't communicate, cold coffee, bad food, and forever wait time. Have never been there for dinner, and never will be, but breakfast is a definite no go.

Wednesday is paella night. Great option. Bar has good cocktail list. Enjoyed the mocha martini. Good selection of tapas. Inexpensive wine list and quality too

Really nice wait staff and hostess. Great value. We were 5 people for tapas. The food was authentic with a twist. Our favorites were the gnocchi, haricots verts, rib sliders and white sangria. The desserts were excellent as well. We had the chocolate sampler and the panna cotta. If you like to sit outside they have nice outside seating in the back. Overall great experience.

A great place for a quick bite. We had a late lunch, so we decided to stop for a small dinner. Upon entering the small cafe on Baltimore ave, we were seated immediately and had drinks in minutes. The server was friendly and full of info. My bf ordered the ravioli since Wed night's special involved pasta. I ordered the cheese board since I was really only snacking. The ravioli seemed ample, and the cheese board was more than I expected. The offer to swap anything on the cheeseboard that you may not care for. We really liked the small atmosphere, however being a local I am concerned about places I enjoy being able to accommodate larger groups as well as being able to enjoy their food during the season. Esp since I hate waiting. I would def recommend this place for any occasion. It's casual and there is a small bar.

Some of the finest dining in Rehoboth Beach. The menu was very eclectic. The prices aren't too bad either. I tasted three different items from the menu and they were positively delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic too, especially if you're dining out back on the screened porch. Service was prompt and professional. I can't recommend more highly.

This is a great little tapas restaurant with a lot of variety. I would recommend calling ahead for reservations since seating can be limited. Very cute atmosphere, they had an entertaining singer & keyboardist. They give you table a small complimentary bowl of olives and bread. The cocktails were great (they have a large selection on wines), friendly bartender and servers. The tapas were amazing! You will probably need to order at least 2 plates a person to share to be full. Our group LOVED the Seared Sea Scallops and the Calamares Fritos (Calamari w/ jalapeños) probably the best dishes we've had on the tapas menu.

We had a wonderful, relaxing meal here. Starting with the cocktail, "The Sunburn", was fantastic as was our wine. We had a variety of Tapas and everyone was Delicious. The bartender was not very welcoming but the rest of the staff was friendly and efficient.

Will not be coming back here. Ever. The hostess would not stop staring at our table and was extremely rude. The waitress barely came to our table and acted annoyed whenever we asked for something else. The food and drinks were CRAZY over priced and we barely ate any of it. The presentation was sloppy and the food was barely warm. We left angry and hungry. Not worth it.

My friend and I went for happy hour, Thursday evening specifically to hear Holly Lane who is the bartender and chanteuse extraordinair.& her very talented accompanist, pianist John Finn! We highly rrecommend the happy hour tapas which were delicious !! A must go destination! A very very friendly crowd. Thank you. !

Love this place. Cozy atmosphere (always sit in the front room). Thursday nights are best with Holly and John if you're up for entertainment. Food is consistently good. Haven't had a bad meal. They serve fresh bread and olives with your drinks that are a wonderful start. The only issue is that sometimes it's hard to get in. On some occasions the servers at the tables are friendly and service is good and some nights they are not.

High quality food. Entertainment (singing??) left a lot to be desired. Make sure you eat there when there is no entertainment b

We stumbled upon Cafe Azafran as we were trying to get into another busy Rehobeth restaurant on a Saturday night. They were so gracious and sat us right away. Although it wasn't your typical kid friendly restaurant, they could now have been nicer to our almost three year old accommodating all of her needs. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. I would go back again and again.

Excellent food when I recently went there for lunch. I had been a fan of the Lewes location, where I have eaten wonderful lunches and dinners over the years. I especially enjoyed my crab cake sliders, which were chock-full of crab and used very little in the way of breadcrumbs or other fillers. Others may disagree, but I find the atmosphere a little lacking. I suppose it's because the restaurant is open for three meals a day; it's hard to match 6:30 a.m. decor to 7:30 p.m. food. Azafran looks more like a comfortable coffee shop than the excellent restaurant it is.

Another great meal. Lots of variety on the tapas menu in addition to a special tapas menu made for many tasty, fresh offerings. Figure two to three plates per adult. If you order a 'big' plate, I highly recommend the crab cake. Large, lightly broiled and much more crab meat than breading.

I love Azafran's and when they opened in Rehoboth, I thought I died and went to heaven. Was there New Year's Eve again this year. Meal was superior from beginning to end. Only complaint is the music. While the pianist was phenomenal, and the singer behind the bar was great as well, the venue is so small that the music became the event and you couldn't enjoy your meal or your conversation. It became all about the music and you were forced to pay attention. That was a bummer. It was intrusive. Thank god they took a break. Again, talent was clearly awesome, but I was so looking forward to visiting with my friends that I was really frustrated.

This is my favorite restaurant. The food is consistently excellent . We had the ribeye and salmon tonight. Perfectly cooked. Wonderful wine. Relaxing chill ambience. Couldn't be more enjoyable.

Came in here with Sherry J searching for happy hour specials. The cheese man recommended it and we figured how can you go wrong getting a recommendation from a man that sells such fantastic cheese! Great bartender and the scallops were some of the biggest and best I have ever had. They were 16.00 and you got 2 but they were supersized! And really how can you go wrong with a pesto pistachio sauce on top? WHAT!!! And they came with olives and bread which made it a little more value for the money. I didn't care for my drink that much but got it down. And it was a risky move ordering a ginger puree martini! It did not taste like soap to me as it did to Sherry J but it was a little thick. They say ginger is a cure it all so I used it as a preventative to my hangover the next day!

Probably the best food we have had in Rehoboth. The spinach and ricotta gnocchi were delicious, the space had a great atmosphere, and the service was friendly. Great dining experience!

The service was polite, but slow. The cheese plate was phenomenal, as were many of the other small plates, but the scallop entrée was overcooked and very delayed coming out to the table.

After a rather inhospitable greeting by the host, I wasn't prepared to enjoy my visit. The server and the food saved the experience, though. His recommendations were solid and advice helpful. The food was well-prepared and packed with flavor. I'm a big tapas fan, and the papas bravas here are quite possibly the best I've ever had.

Wonderful restaurant. Great service even though they were very busy. Monday Tasting Night is a good way to get an idea of the range of options here. The best items I tried were the short rib slider and the beet and feta salad. Eggnog cheesecake was delicious and surprisingly light. I intend to return to order off the regular menu.

Azafran is a gem among brunch places in Rehoboth beach. It is on a commercial strip near the center of town, but a bit hidden, and as such it was not crowded at all even at 11AM on labor day weekend. Our experience eating there was very pleasant. The decor is minimal, comfy and relaxing. The menu is somewhat limited (my friend was eating vegetarian and was disappointed that there were no fish options available) but as an omnivore, I was satisfied even with the selection of basic items like waffles, omelets, fruits, granola, and sandwiches. I ordered a custom sandwich of egg, chorizo and manchego cheese on a "rustic" ciabatta with a side of potatoes. Yum. There was also a full espresso and beverage bar. Aside from the limited menu, it took a little while for our beverages and food, considering the place was not at all crowded. I would definitely come here again. I just hope it stays under the radar... so, quick, forget everything I just said!

Went here for breakfast one morning and I must say its been the best tasting breakfast I've had all week, I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was very delicate and delicious with a slight spice that hit just right. The only reason this review didn't get a 5th star was the waiter was very slow and seemed to have a slight attitude. When we entered the restaurant we stood around for about 10 minutes by the front door and there was no one working in sight. Would definitely deal with it for the food though.

We were very disappointed! Took over 20 minutes to get 6 sandwiches after ordering. One guest in our party ordered ratatouille but was given the veggie sandwich. Our server didn't come back to check on us for 10 minutes... And there was only one other table in the restaurant. The flavored iced tea tasted like overly-sweet syrup. With all the great food options in Rehoboth, we won't be coming back here!

We had a small wedding reception (of about 35 people) on the back patio on a Saturday night, and it was wonderful! The patio had a nice, relaxed, private feel to it. The food and the service were both fantastic. We did the meal tapas style, and the dishes were all tasty and creative, and the pacing was perfect - the dishes came out one after the other with just enough time to relax and chat and have some more sangria before the next dish came out. Considering that most of our dishes were seafood (scallops, calamari, shrimp, etc.), the total cost was extremely reasonable. We had our own cake delivered, and they gladly cut and served it.

This is probably one of the best, if not the best resto in Rehoboth. I've been there for paella night, which was off. the. hook. I want the paella! Mmmmmmmm. Other items of wonderfulness: the bruschetta. Really? plain old bruschetta? Oh yeah, if you put grilled artichokes on it & other way yummy stuff. Shrimp a la plancha w/green herb sauce was grilled shrimp w/a fresh drizzle. Also had shrimp saute in a naughty sauce w/tender spinach gnocchi. Oooooh! The asparagus was seriously awesome. Why can't I make asparagus that tastes like that at home? Beautiful scallops. Very nice salade nicoise. Very nice selection of wines by the glass. Really outstanding. No room for dessert. Nice outside patio (no view, but pleasant atmosphere).

Can't praise it highly enough! Originally a Lewes restaurant with this 2nd location recently opened in Rehoboth. Small building that fills up fast, Get a reservation! Feels more like dining with friends than a restaurant . --Incredible service and attention to detail. Tapas equal to that of any Spanish restaurant, if not a cut above. Entrees superlative too. Place was packed, and server repeatedly apologized for delays but it seemed pretty fast to us. We were enjoying ourselves so much, we didn't notice. Live entertainment added to the intimate atmosphere, but I found it a bit too cloying for such a small space. Spanish music would have been better.

I thought this place was just great... We went for a friend's birthday, quite literally minutes after power had been restored following a storm. The server was a little flustered at first, but quickly regained her footing. The food came out of the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time despite a lengthy period without power. Having spent quite a bit of time working in Spain, I certainly recognized the influence of Iberian cooking in Azafran's cooking - it was a welcome departure from your standard Italian/Greek/Levantine flavors when you hear "Mediterranean." I thought the food was solid and interesting, and the service was personal and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

Went here for breakfast. It is 1 block away from the main street and seemed to be the only place where I could get a non-american meal for breakfast. I got the chorizo and eggs and my wife got scrambled eggs with cheese. They served both dishes with a couple slices of a bread that resembled a french baguette. The bread was divine. My chorizo and eggs dish was absolutely amazing. Perfectly spiced crumbled chorizo. Two over easy eggs on top, with runny yolks to dip my bread in. Of the some 8 restaurants we visited in DE, this was probably the best dish.

Had Friday night dinner and went back for Sunday breakfast. I liked the idea of tapas and especially liked that there was no wait. Dinner: I started with a pomegranate fizz and gf had the red sangria. The fruit in the sangria is slivered, which I've never seen before. My pomegranate fizz was delicious. They give you some olives to snack on and then warm sliced bread with olive oil. Grilled romaine caesar was plenty for 2 and had great grill flavor. Tapas: -Grilled corn with a creamy topping!! I've never seen this as a tapa. Soooo good. Get a steak knife and you can easily cut the kernels off. -The gnocchi was outstanding and I am not a gnocchi person. -Fish tacos: 2 large tacos. They didn't look that appetizing but tasted great. -Lamb chops: gf says grilled properly and served with a really good salad of sliced apple, chickpeas, and greens For breakfast, gf had iced coffee. We shared the ample pastry plate for 2. The croissant was delicious and warm, and went perfectly with the soft cinnamon butter. The scones were also warm and very good, and we're not usually into scones. Also included a slice of zucchini bread and a blueberry muffin. She had the chorizo hash and I had the greek omelette, which were both good, the omelette was nice and fluffy. If I went back, I think I'd go for an egg sandwich on a croissant.

One of the greatest places. As you can see for most of my reviews I'm a real simple eater. This place is not simple. The food is awesome. One of the best Caesar salads. I had tapas. The Corn was delicious. The BBQ ribs were awesome and the shrimp was even better. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was great. Very cozy and one of the best places in Rehobeth I believe.

Visited Cafe Azafran during Rehoboth Restaurant Week, it was simply amazing! We had great food, great drinks, and our waitress was awesome. The entrees in the group were: Scottish Salmon a la Plancha, Grilled Pork Tenderloin Medallions, Seafood Tarragona, and Grilled Flat Iron Steak. Everything was great!

Ordered the ratatouille for lunch. Too salty, too many herbs, little tomato, undercooked. They did at least take it off the bill when I sent it back.

Largest tapas I've ever had. Don't think you need to order more than two per person, and if you eat on the lighter side, three split between two people is plenty. That being said, besides large portions the food taste great too! I was a little surprised when my (delicious) fish tacos came with salmon as the fish, and a little turned off, but in the end that were fresh and delicious. The grilled romaine caesar is a must if its on the menu when you're there. I also stopped by for their breakfast on the way out of town, again large portions but fresh and yummy.
